Powder Whoring
Posted on Monday, September 17th, 2007
The same day we posted Teton Gravity Research’s Lost and Found trailer for the Saturday world premiere, an excited telemarker emailed the above trailer (for a different movie, obviously).
“Is it too early to start thinking about powder skiing?” he asked.
In the 10 weeks and four days before the village opens, we’ll undoubtedly see tons of ski movies, likely multiple times, and tons of trailers for the tons of ski movies.
If you’ve seen one movie, have you seen them all? (Or, in this case, trailers?)
The sold-out audience in Walk Festival Hall at Saturday’s premiere said no.
They cheered and screamed and clapped – and later drank and sang and danced – in celebration of our local legendary ski film company and the rad athletes they film – including now-sit-skier Marc-Andre Belliveau who not only ripped on his sit ski in the movie, but had the entire Mangy Moose singin’ and shakin’ to his original tunes later in the night.
The Powder Whore flick will show in Jackson Oct. 19 at the Moose. Between now and then, we’ll likely post trailers from other powder porn makers – Warren Miller, Matchstick Productions. … But, if you don’t want to spend the money on tickets for the full features, just check out the trailers and the teasers for the trailers. There will be plenty.

Is it winter yet? That segment is ridiculous!
