Oh, to be a fly on the wall this Saturday night at Snow King’s Grand Ballroom.
Jackson Hole Snowboarder Magazine is throwing its annual party, dubbed The Players Ball this year, to show its appreciation to the riders, readers, advertisers and friends of Jackson’s snowboarding community.
For the second year in a row, New York hip hoppers El Gant will be present just days after releasing their new album, Quit Your Day Job. El Gant will be joined by DJ Wicked of Portland, J Boogie, Cut la Whut and Thunder all spinning beats for the snowboarding folks to bust their moves.
Speaking of busting moves, Affiliate Dance Crew of Boulder, Colo. are coming in to show their eye candy break-dance steps. Anomaly Farm will be screen-printing on site, with handmade hats and tees for sale.
Raffle prizes include Avalon7 hats and bandannas, Cloudveil snowboarding jackets and hoodies as well as season passes, snowboards, art and piles of other goodies, all generously donated by the magazine’s sponsors, collaborators, and advertisers.
Curt Morgan and Travis Rice will premier the trailer for their next flick, “That’s It, That’s All,” and Jackson’s local snowboard wax icon Willie McMillon will premier the trailer for his upcoming Bluebird film, “Love Over Money,” being filmed by Jackson Hole Snowboarder’s own publisher, Jesse Brown, among others.
You mustn’t fear having to run down to Snow King’s new Lounge downstairs for a drink or three, for several bars and lounges will be set up in the redecorated ballroom itself.
Dress to Impress, get down and enjoy the party of the season.
And once you’re there, don’t be afraid to smack that fly on the wall. He didn’t pay to get in, and doesn’t deserve to witness the debauchery, mayhem, snowboard love, and good times that will follow.
Tickets are available at the Village Café, Backcountry Provisions, and JoJo’s in advance for $20 or $25 at the door.
