5Point Film Festival May 8-10

In May, the 5Point Film Festival makes it debut in Carbondale, CO. Featuring a five-star roster of adventure films, special guests and panel discussions, 5Point is the newest Carbondale event that can’t be missed.
Featured speakers include Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard, blind mountaineer Erik Weihenmayer, as well as local personalities, Aron Ralston, Chris Klug and Lou Dawson. Films incorporate all realms of adventure: mountain biking, climbing, surfing, base jumping, mountaineering and kayaking, just to list a few.
Named for the “five point” climbing grade, the new festival is built on five guiding principles: respect, commitment, humility, purpose and balance. These same principles also form a foundation for individuals who lead lives of adventure and connect those with an elemental passion to explore. Proceeds will benefit 1% for the Planet and the Carbondale Environmental Board.
