Briggs Inducted

Posted on Thursday, April 30th, 2009

The Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame officially recognized the class of 2008 with an induction ceremony in Park City on April 4th.  Hometown favorite and ski mountaineering pioneer Bill Briggs was among the list of honorees.  In a Hall of Fame dominated by racers, hopefully Bill’s name on the plaque will mean that more skiers who went from shinning, to shunning gates will have their names immortalized for their contribution to the sport.  I can think of five names off the top of my head that are deserving, but one in particular that stands out for his early efforts to open the AK Candy Store.

Nice work Bill, thanks for representing.

It’s taken us 35 years to really figure out the value of your accomplishments and hopefully this is just one in a long lists of accolades that will land on your doorstep.
