ho ho ho!

Santa makes a stop on Snow King Mountain in Jackson, where the temperature dipped to -6 this morning and is forecast to get even colder tonight. Skies should be clear as the reindeer fly low over the National Elk Refuge to say hello to their pals.

Jolly ol’ St. Nick passed out candy canes as he swished down the groomed slopes of the Town Hill.

“That’s a rad Santa,” said one of the skiers skinning up the hill in the background.

In a ski town like Jackson, one might think the grass showing in the photo is the equivalent of getting coal in your stocking. But as those skinners attest, making the most of what you have is in the true spirit of Christmas.

From everyone at Cloudveil and The Mountain Murmur, our warmest wishes for a joyous holiday season — and loads of snow!
