A couple of events recommended by our contributors:
Today at the Trap Bar at Grand Targhee, against a backdrop of fresh powder in the Tetons, Alaska Backcountry Adventures is giving away a heli-ski day, reports Cloudveil Ambassador Eric “E.A.” Anderson. There will be specials on Alaskan beer, and at 7:30 p.m. Teton Valley filmmaker Eric “E.D.” Daft will premiere a new ski and snowboard video shot in Alaska.
Afterward, the Supervillains, a five-piece ska band from Orlando, Fla., will have the Trap jumping. The band, a hit on its last visit, also will make a promotional appearance at Big Hole Music in Driggs at 4:20 p.m. to sign CDs and hang with fans.
Margaret Burns Vap, the yoga guru who authored the six-part ski fitness series here earlier this season, is offering a yoga-and-skiing retreat next week with discounts for Mountain Murmur readers. The four-day getaway at a ranch in Big Sky, Mont., will be Jan. 28-31. Participants will save 10 percent on registration by mentioning Cloudveil. Click here for details.
